In 1998, Crane Co. acquired the UK based hot and cold drinks equipment manufacturer Stentorfield Ltd.

Crane Merchandising Systems is the new company delivering both National Vendors and Stentorfield branded merchandising equipment. The new name has come with the formation of a new operating group by US parent Crane Co. Crane Merchandising Systems will specialise in offering complete turnkey vending solutions; from expertise in the manufacturing of automatic merchandisers to the provision of information and new technologies to meet customers' needs.

The company's headquarters are located in Chippenham, Wiltshire at the former Stentorfield Ltd site. A market leader in the vending industry, the current annual turnover is £24 million, growth has doubled over the past four years. Around 8,000 machines are manufactured at the Chippenham site each year.

When the Stentorfield Ltd site in Chippenham was chosen to house the new European headquarters the site was extended to include an additional 33,749 sq ft of space, making a total of over 70,000 sq ft. The extension includes new stores, productions areas, workshops and offices, as well as a new staff canteen and showrooms.

Crane Merchandising Systems also has offices in France and Germany, which report to the UK headquarters. In Europe, the names of National Vendors and Stentorfield continue to be used to describe their respective product ranges, and are promoted as brands under the company name of Crane Merchandising Systems.
